📅 When the Adventure Awaits

October 3-8, 2027 at the breathtaking Hardscrabble Ranch in Bozeman, Montana. Arrive after 3:00 PM on October 3 and settle into your creative home-away-from-home. We’ll gather, create, explore, and immerse ourselves in color and bookmaking magic through October 7, departing by 11:00 AM on October 8. Five unforgettable nights are included.

🛏️ Choose Your Perfect Nest

Our lodging accommodations are spread across two beautiful ranch lodges, creating a cozy and welcoming retreat atmosphere.

Your retreat registration includes double occupancy accommodations, meaning you’ll share a bed with another participant. Once registered, you’ll receive a sleeping preference form so you can select your preferred arrangement.

Prefer a little extra space?

🌙 Single Bed Supplement: $300

For participants who would like a bed entirely to themselves, a single supplement is available, bringing the total retreat investment to $2,895.

(Twin beds and bunk beds are exempt from the supplement.)

Looking for something even more adventurous?

⛺ Exclusive Glamping Experience: $500 Supplement

For those wanting an extra touch of rustic Montana magic, a limited number of private glamping tents are available. These unique accommodations offer an unforgettable retreat experience under the big Montana sky. Please note that glamping tents do not include electrical power.

Because accommodations are limited and unique, we will do our best to honor everyone’s preferences, though occasional adjustments may be necessary to accommodate guest selections and occupancy needs. If you’d like to inquire about available sleeping options before registering, please contact us for details.

🎨 Is This Retreat for You?

This is a technique-building workshop designed for creatives who already have a foundation in mixed media and bookmaking. Participants should have basic experience with both, allowing us to dive deeper into the exciting worlds of dye-pot dyeing, surface design, and artist book construction.

🌈 Reserving Your Place in the Magic

A $500 non-refundable deposit will secure your seat at this exclusive retreat. Full payment is due within six months of registration. Participants registering on or after April 3, 2027 must pay in full at the time of registration. Regardless of registration date, all balances must be paid by April 3, 2027.

💖 A Few Final Notes

While retreat fees cover nearly every aspect of your creative adventure, personal travel expenses such as airfare, train tickets, parking, rideshares, and other transportation costs remain the responsibility of each participant.

Should unforeseen circumstances require us to cancel the retreat, all retreat payments will be fully refunded.

Hardscrabble Ranch offers a unique opportunity to unplug from notifications—a welcome escape for most. Guests should expect to be without cell service while staying with us. 

Starlink satellite internet is available in both lodges, though we cannot guarantee internet connection at the ceremony site or in the glamping tents.
